Girl Lit was created because of all the document-based reading and writing enforced in high school, students are not reading the great literature of previous decades and it is a problem because this literature affects our perceptions of ourselves, can ease our stress, can demonstrate to us we are all asking the same questions as human beings from generations past and most importantly for Girlstawk, that women have been discounted, disenfranchised, and at the center of societal judgment for centuries. So come sit back with a cup of coffee and read through the beautiful literature that is inspirational for women.
